The Kingdom of Zarat

The Kingdom of Zarat is a Kingdom controlled by semi-nomadic peoples called the Zaratians. The Zaratians are the allies of the Jamesian Kingdom and has provided the Jamesians with extra food to help deal with Astarte's Desert Curse. The Zaratians have many vassal kingdoms. These are Giliga (which was annexed due to it's rebellious nature), Zara-Balata , Zara-Zwuu(Lake Gilgamorium which has a large Tastsetu Population), Zara-Jamesia and Chya'ia. These vassals provide the Zaratians with crops, fishing and industries that the Zaratians, due to thier semi-nomadic lifestyle cannot produce in large quantities. The Zaratian Plains are under direct control of the Zaratians as the land is not suitable for farming crops that Jamesianoids can eat.

The Zaratians settled into the Zaratian Plains around 31,200BX(Before Xerxes). They along with many other Anatrotu tribes displaced the Neo-Rwiswi-Oxa native to the region. At first the Zaratians served the Chiazhu-Oxa Kingdom until the Zardonian conquest of Chiazhu in 30,676BX in which the Zardonians conquered the Zaratians , Chiazhu-Oxa, Giligans and Yusinzians. Zarat Became interdependent after the Battle of Hikaritina-Karye in 30,018BX when a Jamesian and Zaratian force defeated the Zardonian Governor of Zarat. The Zaratians have been allies with the Jamesian ever since due to the fact that the Jamesians created the Zaratian Kingdom and made it interdependent from Chiazhu.

A Zaratian goat herder herding goats while on a horse. The Zaratians often herded animals like goats , sheep , horses , cows , ostriches and camels. The Zaratians used these animals for milk (goats , sheep and cows), for fabrics (goats and sheep) , for eggs (ostriches), as mounts (horses , camels and ostriches) and as food (all types of animals). The Zaratians used these animals and the resources that they got from them to trade with their allies and their vassals.

The Zaratians are semi-nomadic as a way to allow the land to heal after all the plants and grass has been decimated by their herd animals. They move to another fresh filed and let the animals eat all the plants and grass there. As they go around Zarat, the land's plants and grass will grow back and will be fresh and long again. Allowing the process to be repeated endlessly.

The dark green area is Zaratian territory after the Jamesians liberated them during the Jamesian Beginning War 30,021BX to 30,016BX. 

The yellow area is the vassal of Chya'ia and was turned into a vassal state after the Zaratians rebelled from the Katanian Empire when it collapsed in 18,430BX.

The purple Area is Zara-Balatia and was territory taken from the Balatians during the Balatian Mercenary Wars (18,430BX-18,390BX) in which Faronian mercenaries hired by the waning Katanian empire decided to take lands after the Katanians didn't pay them due to the Katanian empire running out of money. The Zaratians as well as the Karutu attacked these mercenaries but only manged small land gains.

The red area is Zara-Jamesia, a land colonized by the Jamesians after the destruction of the Katanian Empire. This land has a large Jamesian and Zarato-Jamesian population.

The orange area is Giliga, a Ssatu Kingdom initially colonized by the Jamesian during the Middle Jamesian Kingdom.  However in 823BX a Lunarite invasion had destroyed the city and occupied the ruins during the Failed Lunarite Invasion of Zarat (823BX to 820BX) where the Lunarite empire wanted to conquer Zarat and the Jamesian Kingdom to get closer to the Astart empire's western edge. After the defeat of the Lunarites the Kingdom became a Ssatu Vassal that served the Zaratians.

The brown area is the Interdependent Ssatu Kingdom of Yusinzia which pays tribute to the Zaratians and often doesn't see itself as autonomous because of its obligation to pay tribute.

The light green area is land the Zaratians annexed after the fall of the Katanian Empire and was lost when the Katanians attacked the Zaratians in 14,591BX when the Katanians took advantage of the fact the Jamesians were busy fighting the Astart Empire. This land became autonomous after the fall of the Katanian Kingdom to the Lunarites in 3,200BX and was called Karukatania because of the mix Karutu and Katanian (as well as Ssatu and Kata-Rwiswi-Oxa) population living there. After the land was liberated by the Zaratian allies during the Failed Lunarite Invasion of Zarat in late 820BX. The Zaratian allies made this land an allied kingdom.
